About Becoming
Becoming
Becoming is an independent space for reflection on truth, faith, life, and the ongoing process of becoming who we are.
Born in 2004, I recently went through a very difficult period in my life. I struggled with mental health issues and was hospitalized. During that time, I constantly questioned the meaning of life, death, time, and the significance of what we do.
I often asked myself:
Why live, if one day we are going to die?
Why do anything, if one day no one may remember us?
For a long time, I could not find an answer that truly helped me live.
Then, slowly, something began to change. There was no single moment when I suddenly understood everything. It was a journey shaped by people, experiences, questions, mistakes, and new ways of looking at reality. Little by little, I began to emerge from the dark.
That experience taught me something I now consider fundamental:
A person does not remain the same forever.
We can change. We can recognize our mistakes. We can learn to see more clearly. And it was from this realization that the idea of Becoming was born.
Why “Becoming”?
Becoming means being in the process of change, growth, and transformation.
I chose this name because I do not believe that a person is ever completely finished or permanently defined. We are continually shaped by what we experience, by the people we meet, by the choices we make, by our wounds, by faith, by doubt, and by the questions we have the courage to face.
At the heart of this project, then, is one question:
Who are we becoming?
Becoming is not meant to be a place where someone simply tells you what to think. Instead, I hope to create a space where we can pause, look at an issue from different perspectives, ask a few more questions, and think more carefully before we decide.
About the Writer
I write under the pseudonym Elias Rowan.
I am interested in the questions that emerge where philosophy, faith, society, culture, and everyday life meet. I do not write as an academic philosopher, nor as someone who believes he possesses all the answers. I write as someone who is still learning, questioning, and changing.
This project was not born from the certainty that I have arrived. It was born from the awareness that I am still on the way.
What You Will Find Here
Here you will find reflections on:
Truth and self-knowledge
Faith and doubt
Identity and change
Freedom, responsibility, and choice
Philosophy and social issues
Culture and contemporary life
Technology and the transformation of the way we live
My goal is never to tell you what to think. Above all, I want to invite you to think.
Because Becoming does not mean that the process is complete. It means continuing to change, while trying to live with greater awareness, responsibility, and truth.
